Melissa Ann Davis, 36 from Goddard, KS passed away on December 25, 2020 in Wichita, KS. She was born in Wichita, KS on June 14, 1984 to William and Cheryl Davis. She was a 6th grade teacher at Goddard USD 265 for 10 years and was also a respiratory therapist at Wesley Medical Center for 14 years. She was a life guard, swim instructor and volleyball coach. She received degrees from Newman University in Respiratory Therapy and her teaching degree. She also received an Administration Degree from Baker University. She is survived by her parents, Lee and Cheryl Davis; brother Brian and Shauna Davis; nieces and nephews Colton, Case, Kinsley, Kodie and Corbin; and many cousins.

Longtime USD 265-Challenger Intermediate School teacher and USD 265-Goddard High School 2002 Alumna Missy Davis was posthumously awarded the KAKE-TV Golden Apple Award.

Missy Davis returned to USD 265-Goddard Public Schools as a teacher for 10 years. She was a world-class member of our #265Family - a dear classmate, teacher, colleague, and friend. Her impact on those around her and the community of Goddard will truly be felt for generations to come.

Project Teacher will be making a $500 donation to the Goddard Education Foundation in honor of Missy Davis’ life and contribution to education here in Goddard.
