The Discovery Pride Pack has been busy — and students are about to reap the rewards.
It all started at an earlier Pride Pack meeting, when the group began discussing how to put their fundraising dollars to good use. Member Caelor White sparked the idea: why not provide snacks for students during state testing? Her reasoning was simple and hard to argue with — testing days are long, and a little treat goes a long way toward keeping students comfortable and energized.
The group was unanimous. Snacks for testing it would be.
What they didn't quite anticipate was the scale of the effort. With over 900 snack bags to assemble, the task could have felt overwhelming. But a little teamwork and organization turned the project into an impressive display of Pride Pack efficiency — nearly 500 bags were packed and ready in just 40 minutes.
Students will receive their snack bags over the next two weeks as they work through ELA and Math State Assessments. It's a small gesture, but one that carries a big message: the Pride Pack is in their corner.
The Pride Pack also wants to take a moment to thank every student who participated in incentive day snack sales — and the parents who supported them. This treat wouldn't be possible without your generosity.
