Explorer Families! We are still looking for amazing people to join Explorer's Work Family!

While we had our fingers crossed and hearts full of hope, we want to share the latest news. Melissa Haney, our amazing science teacher, did not win the title of Kansas Teacher of the Year for 2024.
The honor goes to Taylor Bussinger, a middle school teacher from Olathe. We congratulate Taylor on this remarkable achievement and extend our warmest wishes to him.
Although Melissa didn’t secure the title tonight, her dedication to our students and the passion she brings to her classroom are unwavering and she represented Explorer and USD 265 well . Her message tonight was about the importance of building relationships with her students and in that category she is a true champion. She’s a true winner in our hearts, and we are incredibly proud of her.
Thank you, Melissa, for all that you do for Explorer Elementary. Your impact is immeasurable, and you are forever loved by your students and colleges.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟
Explorer families,
As you may know, our very own Melissa Haney, a dedicated member of our staff, was named one of the 8 finalists for Kansas Teacher of the Year last Spring by the Kansas State Department of Education.
The winner of this prestigious award will be announced tonight by the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Randy Watson.
Melissa's passion, dedication, and commitment to our students have always shone brightly, and she truly deserves this recognition. Let's all wish her the very best of luck tonight.
Melissa, your Explorer family is cheering you on!
