The USD 265 District Office is proud to welcome Riley Schoen, a Senior at Goddard High School, as one of three new interns for Goddard Public Schools and the Goddard Education Foundation for the 2026-27 school year! Below is a brief bio from Schoen, sharing a bit about her background and this opportunity - some would say, of a lifetime.
"I am a senior at Goddard High School (GHS) and have proudly called Goddard home for the past six years. During my time in school, I have served as a GHS Ambassador, National Honor Society member, Student Council Class President, SkillsUSA member, Sedgwick County Cadet, County Commission District 3 Citizens Advisory Board member, and Prairie Schooner Mate.
I am honored to intern with the district’s Community Relations team and contribute to the work of sharing the stories of Goddard Public Schools. This community has invested greatly in my education and growth, and I look forward to giving back to the schools and people who have given me so much. I pursued this internship to develop new skills, build relationships, and gain meaningful, real-world knowledge that will prepare me for the future.
Through this role, I will combine my passion for creativity and storytelling to highlight the students, staff, achievements, and moments that make Goddard Public Schools a family. My years here have given me countless memories with educators and at community events, and I look forward to showcasing the people and experiences that shape our schools. I am also eager to help plan Neighbors United 2027, a day that brings us together in service to the place we call home.
As I begin this journey, I am ready to learn from the Community Relations team and gain a deeper understanding of the work behind telling the story of our schools. I am grateful for the chance to contribute while preparing for my next chapter in college, where I plan to pursue criminal justice and behavioral science. I look forward to seeing how the lessons, relationships, and memories from this internship help shape the path ahead."
We are proud to welcome Riley to the team, and look forward to the innovation, hard work, and leadership she will bring!
