It is with pride that we introduce the sixth member of the Goddard Virtual School Class of 2025, Mr. Jesse Miller. April 24 marked the end of Miller’s 3.5-year journey as a GVS student. During that time, he took advantage of the opportunity complete his graduation requirements early.
In Miller’s opinion the best parts of being a virtual student included the flexibility to create his own schedule and the understanding and helpful teachers. Instead of working about the school’s set hours, Miller appreciated the ability to create his own schedule. The most impactful high school course Miller completed was Financial Literacy. According to Miller the curriculum helped him gain a better understanding of budgeting, and the real-life applications definitely helped him build his financial skills which will be beneficial throughout his life.
As a new high school graduate Miller plans to seek fulltime employment, build his savings, and eventually co-purchase a plot of land with his mother where they can live independently but relatively close to one another.
In 10 years, Miller’s goal is to be working in the plumbing field as a master plumber overseeing journeymen, apprentices and helpers. In order to achieve this career goal, he plans to continue exploring options to obtain the level of master plumber.
Congratulations, Jesse and best wishes as you begin the next chapter of your life.
