GVS_four years of graduates

Following the Covid pandemic, the Kansas State Department of Education required virtual programs throughout Kansas to convert to virtual schools.  As a result, Dr. Cannizzo, Tegan Ulman-Perkins and Brenda Sharp worked tirelessly throughout the Summer of 2021 to prepare for the opening of Goddard Virtual School.

Since its inceptions, GVS has provided a virtual learning platform for students throughout USD 265.  These students have included ballerinas who relocated to Chicago and New York, an actor residing in California, dual-enrolled students as well as traditional K-12 students.

Utilizing Edgenuity as its curriculum, GVS also provided in-person activities.  Hands-on science days organized by Mrs. Huntley and Testing & Tutoring Tuesdays have given GVS students opportunities to interact with their peers as well as received one-on-one individualized instruction.

Throughout the four years in which Goddard Virtual School has existed 44 seniors have utilized this platform to complete their high school graduation requirements (see photo).  In addition, hundreds of K-12 students have completed at least one semester of their educational journeys via GVS.
