OAK Street is hiring!!!!

Rep’n the Chiefs!

Welcome back to Motivational Monday. This week we feature 1st grade teacher, Ms. Burr. She feels "it is important to greet every student and staff member with a smile and a warm greeting to make sure they know that they are loved and welcome in this space." And just like her shirt says, Ms. Burr is happy to see all of her kids' faces every day!!

Lot's of great updates!
Looking forward to seeing you at Conferences!

We had our first session of Donuts with Dear Ones this morning, and we loved seeing all the smiling faces. Another happy face we caught in the hallway is Mrs. Wolff, one of our Title Reading Teachers. She is wearing a great shirt today for Motivational Monday. It states You Are Kind, Brave, Smart, Helpful, Grateful, Enough, Strong, Unique and Loved! She wants our Oak Street students to know this about themselves. What a powerful reminder for students and staff! Have an amazing day, and we hope to see the other half of our Oak Street family tomorrow at Donuts for Dear Ones.

Thank you to Sedgwick County Fire Department for visiting 1st grade Friday and teaching them about fire safety and letting students learn all about your job! 🚒❤️

One of our long time Oak Street Friends, Tammy Sheridan, donated book fair gift certificates for the Tiger Ticket winners this week. She was first a parent in the building, then became a substitute, but has since moved on. Her connection to the staff and students remains strong though, and she considers Oak Street family. She knows how important using good tiger traits are in the building, and she wanted to support the program. Thank you Tammy for thinking of us. We know that these Tiger Ticket winners will be so excited to spend their money at the book fair next week! Congratulations to this amazing group!

Are you ready for some football AND baseball? We definitely can tell what Mrs. Keck, her son, and Ms. Marissa will be watching tonight! Their Chiefs gear is a great feature for Motivational Monday. A quote that these ladies learned from Patrick Mahomes is that Every experience, good or bad, you have to learn from. We can see how this would work on the field as well as in a classroom. Thank you for the picture, the motivation and Go Chiefs!

On Friday, Firefighters came to visit Kindergarten and teach them about fire safety.
