Happy Tuesday! Thanks for joining us for the first Tiger Trait Tuesday of the school year! Each month we pull out our Oak Street shirts and throw on our animal print to focus on a specific character trait for the month. This month the focus trait is Empathy. Ms. Buresh talks about this in her counseling classes as well as our educators.
We also get to kick off the monthly character trait with a Tiger Ticket Drawing. These 5 students earned at least one ticket TODAY and their name was pulled out of the bucket. Good work to this great bunch. They earned a very unique set of Crayola markers that are the Colors of the World.

This week is National Substitute Appreciation Week, and we would love to give a shout out to our full time substitute, Lisa Dwornicki! This gal has endless energy, a love for all kids, and is a very hard worker. Thanks for being a wonderful role model for our students! We are lucky to have you at Oak Street!
Happy Friday before this fun three day weekend! The kids are excited to have a small break, even though we all felt like we just got back to school.
These winners are smiling and happy because they won their own Silly Putty. These vintage treasures are still around and the kids were super excited about them! Happy 2nd Monday of the school year. We have our newest administrative assistant, Mandi Bega, posing for Motivational Monday. She and Jennifer have done an amazing job getting this school year started on a positive note. We appreciate them so much!
Her shirt today reminds students that "we can do hard things". Mandi has worked in the schools for many years, and she knows just the right statements that can motivate our students. This is absolutely one of them! Oak Street is wishing everyone the best day! Thanks again to Mandi for sharing.

Welcome back to the first Tiger Ticket Drawing of the school year! Do I hear lots of cheering out there?!? These students were caught showing their tiger traits, and were rewarded for it with at least one earned ticket! Our drawing and earning tickets is part of our school wide behavior incentive program funded by PTO. We focus on three main character traits: respect, responsibility and perseverance.
Congratulations to these Oak Street tigers! I know they will all enjoy their Dog Man Card game. You may be hungry for a hotdog after playing this game with the family!
