Kindergartners in Science learning about magnets

Oh, Mrs. Campbell makes us smile on this Motivational Monday. What a fun shirt to have messages on the front and on the back! The front has one of our favorite messages and reminds us to "Be Kind". The back says "Dear person behind me. The World is a better place with you in it! Love the person in front of you!" Mrs. Campbell shared that this is a positive message for all of her first grade students and fellow educators. Mental Health is very important. Mrs. Campbell also teased that she is going to start putting messages on the back of all of her shirts, and use if for her first grade students to read as they walk down the hallway! It could be anything from math facts to the target vowel sound of the week! We look forward to seeing this! Have a great day Oak Street!

KAY is sponsoring their annual Daddy/Daughter Dance on Sunday, October 1st this year! They would love to see as many dads and daughters as possible for this fun event. The theme this year is Under the Sea and they have a lot of fun planned.

Motivational Monday is in full swing here at Oak Street. Mrs. Kratz, a new third grade teacher that co-teaches with Mrs, Douglass, is showing off her fabulous shirt today. Her quote is to Grow Positive Thoughts. She said this ties into so many ways within their classroom. She knows all children grow at different rates and in unique ways. She is displaying this in her classroom by developing a Hydroponics Garden. The plants are are growing in water and not soil. Their third graders see that not everything is this world is done in "one way". Such a fun lesson. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your positive thoughts on this Monday. We look forward to growing with you!

Friday is here already! We packed a lot into our four day week, including showing so many great tiger traits that earned tickets! This sweet group was lucky enough to have one of their tickets drawn. They won a 24 pack of the Colors of the World markers. Well done. Have an incredible weekend, and remember how proud we are of all the tiger traits shown at Oak Street.

Miss Burr's class made the news this week thanks to a very special Mystery Reader.
