Help us celebrate School Board Appreciation Month this January by joining us for a USD 265 Board of Education Meet & Greet event!
This come-and-go event is open to the public and will take place from 6:15 - 6:50 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13th, 2025 in the BOE Room at the Central Administration Center (201 S. Main St. Goddard, KS 67052). Let’s celebrate the pride, growth, and excellence of our #265Family together!

We had our weekly Tiger Ticket drawing a day early, so we wouldn't compete with the Christmas Party crowd on Friday. These five really showed their best tiger traits and earned at least one ticket in the past 4 days. They walked away with their own Nee Doh Nice Cube! If you know, you know. This is a very squishy square. Enjoy! Show those tiger traits even tomorrow students, because when we come back in January there is a drawing that day for Tiger Trait Tuesday! Let's finish strong!

Christmas caroling and cookie decorating at OAK Street today.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

As you can tell, this drawing was a little larger than most! A few months ago the Oak Street Lunch Ladies offered to host a cookie decorating class around the holidays. It started with 5 students and then quickly grew to 15! Next Thursday these students will have an hour to decorate holiday cookies. The ladies have three different stations planned, and are equally as excited about the class. At the end of the hour each student will walk away with their own box of delicious sugar cookies. A bid shout out of thanks to Carol, Marge, and Mai for their generosity, creativity and knowledge. What a fun experience.
Also thanks to all of our Oak Street students as well for using your best traits and for having a box full of tickets to draw from. Oak Street is simply the best! We love our school during the holidays!

Lots of great updates!

Let's make this winter bright! Don't miss our Spirit Week next week.

EHS Madrigals and Belle Voce visited Oak Street this morning to share songs of the season with our Oak Street Tigers.

Parents/Guardians,
As we approach the end of the 1st semester I wanted to take a moment to remind parents/guardians that all students being dropped off in the morning (by car) need to be dropped off on the north side of the building. *Please see attached Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures Note.
Drop off begins at 8:30 a.m. We have staff that will help unload students beginning at 8:30 a.m. We are able to unload 5-7 cars at a time so although the line looks long, we are able to move the line very quickly each morning. Please also remind your student not to exit the vehicle until a staff member opens the door.
We have had students being dropped off on Oak Street and have had a few "close calls" with cars and student safety. A friendly reminder that these procedures are in place to ensure all students get unloaded and into the building safely each day.
Thank you for your continued support and for your help to keep our students safe,
Ashley Miller, Principal

Today was "Dress like Mrs. Miller" day for the staff. She didn't know but it didn't take her long to realize everyone was wearing sunglasses on their head and glasses on their face. Thanks for being such a good sport, Mrs. Miller. You know the saying, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and we sure do love you!!

Student of the Month winners were announced today for the month of November. These kiddos demonstrated gratitude. Teaching children the importance of gratitude is a gift that keeps on giving. It not only enriches their lives but also fosters a sense of empathy and kindness. Congratulations to these Oak Street Tigers!!

Wrapping up Friday with a fun Tiger Ticket drawing here at Oak Street. Happy day for this group of five. They used their Tiger Traits and earned at least one ticket. These students had their choice of picking two items from Mrs. Mullen's stash of goodies. They loved all the random fun. Have a great weekend and enjoy your well earned treasures!

Thank you to our fourth grade servers for your outstanding service and hard work at our 24th Annual Oak Street Elementary Feast.

4th Grade got to experience the parachute and stretchy band with music from the Nutcracker today! It was so much fun and a lot of smiles and laughter were had.

Winter is here! ☃️ Check out our newsletter for a sneak peek at the frosty fun.

We are celebrating Tiger Trait Tuesday a little late! We had the drawing today instead of yesterday. This group has already rocked it and had at least one ticket in the drawing. They were able to pick two items from Mrs. Mullen's random stash of prizes and they were so excited! Enjoy and keep showing your traits all week long. We will have a second drawing on Friday!

Mrs. Douglass’ class ventured over to EHS today to work with Mrs. Beaver’s FACS class to make fudge, play a get to know you game, and read winter stories! We can’t wait to taste our fudge and are so excited to have made some new friends!

TODAY is Tiger Trait Tuesday. Show us your tiger stripes. Wear your Oak Street shirt, along with your animal print to celebrate your tiger pride!!
